The new book by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burcu TEKİN, one of our faculty members in the department, titled “Fantastic Elements in 20th-Century Latin American Short Stories,” is now available to readers.

As part of the third Language, Culture and Translation Talks, held on 4 June 2026, a talk entitled “Argentina: A Journey Through Language and Culture” took place.

The event, held in the Sezai Karakoç Hall of the Rectorate Building, featured Mariana Isabel Abalo and Daniela Maita from the National University of Avellaneda as speakers. Our esteemed guests, joining us online from Argentina, shared insights with participants on the linguistic characteristics of Spanish in Argentina and the country’s rich cultural landscape.

Dr. Hale ERDOĞAN HACIBANOĞLU and Dr. Burcu TEKİN, lecturers in the Department of Spanish Translation and Interpreting at our faculty, have contributed chapters to a collective volume published by the international academic publisher Peter Lang. Edited by Flavia Kaba, Xavier Baró Queralt and Fernando Cid Lucas, the book titled “Conversaciones sobre Historia, Lengua y Literatura en español: Encuentros entre el Mediterráneo y el Adriático” brings together interdisciplinary studies on the Spanish language and culture.
