Dr. Nur Gülümser İlker, a lecturer in our department, appeared as a guest on the programme "Gecenin İçinden", broadcast on TRT Radio 1 at 11.30 pm on Friday 31 July. Hosted by Selvi Karakoç and broadcast live from the Sıhhıye Radio House studios, the programme featured a discussion on the Colombian journalist and writer Gabriel García Márquez, who is regarded as a pioneer of the Magic Realism movement.

Gabriel García Márquez, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1982, is one of the most significant figures in 20th-century world literature. This masterful writer, who combines his keen powers of observation with fantastical elements, has penned such timeless masterpieces as "One Hundred Years of Solitude", "Love in the Time of Cholera" and "Chronicle of a Death Foretold".
