Our faculty member, Assist. Prof. Nur Gülümser İlker, appeared as a guest on the program “Gecenin İçinden”, which aired on TRT Radio 1 on June 13, 2026, at 11:30 p.m. Hosted by Sevda Türkeri and broadcast live from the Sıhhıye Radio House studios, the program featured a discussion on the life, works, and significance in literary history of Jorge Luis Borges, one of the geniuses of world literature, on the anniversary of his passing.

The new book by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burcu TEKİN, one of our faculty members in the department, titled “Fantastic Elements in 20th-Century Latin American Short Stories,” is now available to readers.

As part of the third Language, Culture and Translation Talks, held on 4 June 2026, a talk entitled “Argentina: A Journey Through Language and Culture” took place.

The event, held in the Sezai Karakoç Hall of the Rectorate Building, featured Mariana Isabel Abalo and Daniela Maita from the National University of Avellaneda as speakers. Our esteemed guests, joining us online from Argentina, shared insights with participants on the linguistic characteristics of Spanish in Argentina and the country’s rich cultural landscape.
